On October 20, 2025, the Wrenford Fire Service welcomed five new recruit firefighters to its ranks after completing an intensive training program. The recruits finished five months of classroom learning and practical live-fire training at Fire Station 1 (Headquarters) on Water Street. You can count on them to respond to emergencies and protect the community.
Two of the new recruits are also trained paramedics, which strengthens Wrenford Paramedic Services and supports our integrated emergency response model. Their addition to the team reflects the City's commitment to providing high-quality public safety services for all residents.
"We are proud of the dedication and resilience these new firefighters showed throughout their training," says Fire Chief Darren MacAulay. "They worked hard to earn their place on the crew, and we are glad to have them on our team."
The new class joins firefighters across the city's five fire stations. They will undergo further on-the-job training before being assigned to their permanent crews. The Fire Service continues to operate around the clock, providing fire suppression, technical rescue, hazardous materials response, fire prevention, and medical first response.
