As of today, November 5, 2025, waste collection is back on its normal schedule for all neighbourhoods. City crews have finished clearing the remaining snow and ice from streets across Wrenford, and garbage, Blue Box recycling, and Green Bin organics trucks are back on their regular routes. Residents should see their carts out on the usual collection days.
During the storm, crews prioritized main roads and emergency routes to keep transit and first responders moving safely. Because of the heavy accumulation and icy conditions, some residential side streets experienced delays, and a few collections were missed. The City apologizes for the inconvenience and wants to thank everyone for their patience while our roads and sidewalks were cleared.
If your cart was not emptied during the disruption, your collection will be made up on the next scheduled service day. You do not need to call to request a makeup collection. Simply keep your cart at the curb until your regular collection day arrives.
"We know that weather disruptions can throw off your weekly routine, but our waste programs team is ready to help if you have any questions about missed pickups or cart preparation," said Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. "Just make sure your carts are at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on collection morning, and that nothing is blocking them."
As we head into the busy holiday season, residents are reminded of a few important dates. Yard waste collection ends at the end of November, and the City will accept paper yard-waste bags until then. Starting the first two weeks of January, curbside Christmas tree pickup will be available for all single-family and duplex properties. For a full list of collection dates, holiday schedule changes, and how to handle bulky items or household hazardous waste during the winter months, visit the Garbage & Recycling section.
For real-time updates on missed collections or route changes, residents can sign up for text alerts through the Wrenford Waste Watch programme. If you need a replacement cart or have a billing question, contact the City at 519-555-0100 or email [email protected].
