Registration for the annual Tamsin River Run is now open. The 5-kilometre and 10-kilometre races will take place on the Tamsin River Trail System this June. Residents can sign up online or in person at Wrenford City Hall.
The race route follows the flat, paved trail along the river, starting and finishing at Riverside Flats Park. Participants will receive a timing chip, a race shirt, and access to water stations along the course. Event volunteers will also hand out medals to everyone who crosses the finish line.
"We're thrilled to see registration numbers climb again," said Caroline Dubé, Recreation Programs Coordinator. "The trail is a real asset for our community, and we want to make sure it's in top shape for runners this spring."
The Roads & Winter Maintenance team has been busy preparing the area. Crews finished clearing snow and ice from the trail access roads and parking lots over the past few months. They are also monitoring street drainage and catch basins to make sure spring runoff does not pool near the start line. You can track seasonal maintenance updates on the Roads & Winter Maintenance page.
Early-bird registration costs $30.00 for the 5-kilometre race and $40.00 for the 10-kilometre race. This price is valid until June 15. Day-of registration will be $35.00 and $45.00 respectively. You can pay by credit card online or with cash or a cheque at the Service Wrenford counter.
Bring your running shoes and join your neighbours for a morning of exercise and fresh air. For full race details, volunteer sign-ups, and course maps, visit the Parks & Trails page or contact the Recreation team directly.
