Participate in community planning for the 2026 budget priorities

The City of Wrenford is asking residents to help shape the 2026 budget priorities through a series of community planning sessions starting this month. As staff begin drafting the 2026 operating budget, your input will guide how we invest in neighbourhoods across the city.

The 2026 budget cycle opens in April, and community planning is the first step. We are looking for your ideas on what matters most to you, whether it is road repairs, park upgrades, transit improvements, or support for local programs. Your feedback will help us decide where to direct funds in the next municipal fiscal year.

You can take part in several ways between now and the end of May. An online survey is open now on the budget planning page. We are also hosting drop-in clinics at Wrenford City Hall and at recreation centres in each ward so you can speak with staff face to face. Ward-specific meetings will follow in early June, where you can hear a draft of the priorities and share your thoughts before the budget goes to council in August.

"We want to make sure the 2026 budget reflects what matters most to you, whether it is fixing potholes on your street, upgrading playgrounds, or supporting local programs," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "When you share your ideas now, you are helping us build a budget that works for every neighbourhood."

To get started, visit the budget planning page to take the survey or find the full schedule of drop-in clinics and ward meetings. You can also email the budget planning team at [email protected] with questions or to request information in an accessible format.
