The Northgate Aquatic Centre will be closed for equipment maintenance from Monday, February 24, to Sunday, March 2, 2025. The closure allows our technical team to upgrade the main filtration system and resurface the dive tank.
During this time, the 50-metre lap pool, waterslide, and all aquatic programs will be unavailable. The fitness centre and program rooms remain open as scheduled.
Residents who usually visit Northgate can use the nearby Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre on Benchlands Drive, or the Ambrel Lake Recreation Centre in the south-east. Both centres offer similar lap pools and fitness facilities. Drop-in fitness classes in the fitness studios at other locations will continue as normal.
“We plan this closure each year to keep our aquatic facilities safe and efficient for the summer season,” says Caroline Dubé, Recreation Programs Coordinator. “The upgrades will ensure the water quality meets the highest standards for swim lessons and public swimming when we reopen.”
We expect the centre to reopen on Monday, March 3, 2025, at its regular hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekends. If you need to adjust your registration or have questions about other aquatic options, visit our Programs page or call the centre directly at 519-555-0121.
Thank you for your patience while we make these important improvements.
