Northgate Aquatic Centre reopens July 10 after mechanical repairs

The City of Wrenford Parks, Recreation & Culture department is pleased to announce that the Northgate Aquatic Centre will reopen for you on Thursday, July 10, 2025. We closed the facility on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, to complete urgent mechanical repairs to the main pool filtration system.

During the closure, you could still enjoy the water at the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool. We appreciate how you used the splash pad and outdoor lanes while our crews worked to fix the issue.

"The reopening of Northgate Aquatic Centre is a welcome relief for swimmers and families," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "I want to thank you for your patience during the closure and to our dedicated maintenance workers who kept the facility safe. We are glad to have the indoor pools back in operation so everyone can enjoy the full range of summer programs."

With the centre reopening, all regular services will resume on July 10. This includes public swim, length swim, aquafit classes, and the Swim abilities programme. The sauna and hot tub will also be available for use.

While the main mechanical systems are fixed, crews will continue to perform minor exterior maintenance around the building during operating hours. The City appreciates your patience during this period and thanks staff at other recreation centres for helping manage the increase in patrons.
