Northgate Aquatic Centre to reopen July 31 after renovations

The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that the Northgate Aquatic Centre will reopen to the public on Thursday, July 31, 2025, following a two-month renovation project. Located at 910 Northgate Boulevard, the centre is finally ready to welcome back swimmers, families, and community groups.

The facility closed on May 26 to replace the pool deck, upgrade the filtration system, and refresh the change rooms and lobby. During the closure, the City moved public swim and lessons to the Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre and the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool so that you could still enjoy the water. We appreciate how well you adapted while our crews worked hard on the upgrades.

“We know how much this facility means to families in the Northgate and the wider community,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “Thank you for your patience while our crews worked hard to upgrade the pools and make sure everything is safe, modern, and ready for the busy season ahead.”

With the doors reopening, all regular programs return immediately. This includes public swim, length swim, aquafit, and swimming lessons for all ages. The waterslide and dive tank are also open for use. You can check the updated schedule and book your spot in swimming lessons or drop-in fitness and public swims. If you need help with registration, visit registration and booking FAQs.

While the main aquatic work is complete, crews will finish some exterior landscaping and parking lot repairs over the next two weeks. There will be no impact on daily operations or water quality.
