Kingfisher Outdoor Pool renovation project awarded to local contractor

On March 11, 2025, Council approved a $1.2 million contract for the renovation of the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool. The project has been awarded to local contractor Benchlands Building Group, and work will begin in May to ensure the pool is ready for the summer season.

Located at 15 Kingfisher Court in the Kingfisher neighbourhood, the facility features a seasonal outdoor pool and splash pad. The renovation will replace the aging deck, upgrade the water filtration system, and refresh the splash pad equipment. Construction is scheduled to run from May 5 to August 31, 2025. Crews will work five days a week to keep the project on track and minimize disruption to the surrounding community.

"Investing in our community facilities is a top priority for this Council," said Fiona Gallagher, GM Community Services. "These upgrades will give the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool the modern systems it needs to keep operating safely and efficiently for years to come."

During construction, the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool will be closed to the public. You will need to make alternative arrangements for daily exercise or summer day camp registration. The City will post updates on the construction schedule and any temporary changes to splash pad access through the News section and our regular service alerts. If you have questions about transit routes to other nearby pools, contact Wrenford Transit at 519-555-0100.

Once the work is complete, the pool will reopen for the regular season. The City continues to maintain its commitment to keeping all outdoor recreation facilities in good condition across Wrenford.
