Kingfisher Outdoor Pool construction tender awarded for spring opening

The City of Wrenford has awarded the construction tender for the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool and splash pad renovation to Wrenford Civil Works Inc. The $1.2 million project will begin on March 10 and is expected to be ready for the summer season by late June.

Kingfisher Outdoor Pool has served the community for many years, but the equipment and structure now need major updates. The new construction will replace the aging filtration system, resurface the pool basin, upgrade the splash pad pumps, and repave the surrounding concrete deck. The work will also bring the facility up to current safety and accessibility standards.

"This renovation will give our community a safe, modern splash pad and swimming area for years to come," said Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner. "We are working closely with the contractor to minimize disruption to the Kingfisher neighbourhood during construction."

The pool and splash pad will be closed to the public for the duration of the project. Residents can expect increased truck traffic on Kingfisher Court during weekday working hours. The City's Roads & Winter Maintenance team will coordinate delivery schedules to keep the street open as much as possible.

Staff will post weekly construction updates on the Service Alerts page so you can plan around the work. Once the site is cleared and the equipment is tested, the City will announce the exact opening date for the season.
