The City of Wrenford will begin its annual fire hydrant flushing program in the Westbrook neighbourhood starting Monday, April 28, 2025. Crews will test equipment and clean the water lines in Ward 2 over the next several weeks.
The work will cover Westbrook Drive, Kingfisher Court, and the surrounding streets. You may notice cloudy or discoloured water for up to 20 minutes if you use water while crews are flushing the line on your street. The water remains safe to drink, but you might experience a temporary drop in pressure.
If your water looks cloudy, wait 20 minutes after the crew leaves your area before running taps. If it stays cloudy, run the cold water for five minutes. You can report leaks or pressure problems by calling 519-555-0100.
"Keeping our water lines clean and our hydrants working is a simple way to make sure we are ready for emergencies all year," said Chief Darren MacAulay, Fire Chief and General Manager of Protective Services.
