Starting February 28, 2025, the City of Wrenford is adjusting the ice resurfacing schedule at the Eastfield Twin Arenas (620 Eastfield Road, Wrenford, ON N4Q 5J2) to better align with busy late-winter league games and public skating times.
The updated schedule means resurfacing will occur after the 7:00 p.m. public skate sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and after the 1:00 p.m. public skate session on Saturdays. This change helps reduce wait times for hockey and figure skating leagues while keeping public skating available throughout the evening. The Eastfield Twin Arenas continue to serve as a central hub for community sport, hosting everything from youth hockey to adult shinny matches.
The ice crew works closely with league organizers to ensure the sheet is prepped safely and quickly between sessions. Residents are reminded to dress warmly and arrive a few minutes early to allow time for check-in and skate sharpening. If you have a booking or plan to attend public skating, check the current public skating schedule for the exact opening and closing times. Groups with scheduled ice time will be notified directly by their league coordinators.
"We know how important it is to keep the ice in great condition for everyone from young skaters to league players," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "This small tweak in our daily routine makes a big difference for the community that uses these rinks every day."
