The East Wrenford Waste Management Facility is officially opening its seasonal services for the spring clean-up season. Starting this week, residents can drop off a wide range of materials at 3500 Concession 4 Road, Wrenford, ON N4Q 7A1, and call 519-555-0128 for more information.
Leaf and yard waste drop-off is now open and will run through the end of November. Residents should bring yard waste in paper bags only. The depot also accepts brush, branches, and small tree trunks. Bulky item drop-off is available as well, with a limit of three items per visit.
Household hazardous waste collection begins on Saturday, May 24, and continues every Saturday through October. There is no charge for Wrenford residents. Acceptable items include paints, solvents, automotive fluids, batteries, pesticides, propane tanks, and fluorescent bulbs. All containers must be in their original packaging and kept upright during transport.
To help residents tackle spring projects, the facility will host a Spring Clean-Up Week from May 24 to May 25. During these two days, the depot will stay open until 5:00 p.m. Mattress recycling will be free for residents on Saturday and Sunday only. After the event, the standard $25.00 per mattress recycling fee applies.
"Spring is the busiest time of year for our depot, and we want to make sure residents have the space and time to clear out their garages and yards safely," says Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. "These seasonal services help keep our streets clean and divert thousands of tonnes of material from the landfill every year."
