Starting March 1, 2026, the City of Wrenford will extend hazardous waste drop-off hours at the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility. This change responds to strong community feedback and growing participation in our recycling and safety programmes.
Under the new schedule, residents will be able to drop off household hazardous waste, such as paints, solvents, batteries, and motor oil, until 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays. This extends the previous 4:30 p.m. cutoff and aligns with the facility’s seasonal operating window from March through November. The landfill and general drop-off depot will remain open Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., as usual.
You can still bring your materials to the depot at 3500 Concession 4 Road. Please keep hazardous items in their original containers, and leave them in your vehicle or in the designated screening area until a staff member is ready to assist. No appointment is needed, but we recommend visiting early in the day on busy Saturdays to avoid long lines. All accepted materials are processed safely and never sent to the active landfill area, which helps protect our soil and waterways.
We know that convenient drop-off times encourage safer disposal habits, said Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. By giving residents more time to visit, we are reducing wait times and keeping our neighbourhoods cleaner and safer.
