Earth Day community cleanup at Ambrel Lake Park April 26

Get ready to help your neighbourhood. The City of Wrenford is hosting a free community cleanup at Ambrel Lake Park on Saturday, April 26. The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All residents are welcome to bring their families and friends.

Meet your team at the main parking lot near the boardwalk. City staff will hand out heavy-duty gloves, biodegradable pick-up bags, grabbers and hand sanitizer. We ask that you bring a reusable water bottle and wear closed-toe shoes. The area can be muddy this time of year. Please do not pick up broken glass or sharp metal on your own. If you see something hazardous, let a City supervisor know right away. Light refreshments, including coffee and tea, will be served once the work is done.

"Community-led cleanups are a great way to get outside and help protect our local waterways," says Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner. "We hope to see families and neighbours working together to keep our parks beautiful for the spring season."

Please sign up in advance so the City can plan for enough supplies and volunteers. You can register online through our Programs page. We recommend signing up by April 23 so we can prepare enough supplies for everyone. If you have questions or need an accommodation, call 311 or 519-555-0100.

All collected trash will be hauled to the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility for sorting. We will separate recyclables from the general waste. For more information on how we manage park waste and recycling across the city, visit the Garbage & Recycling page.
