The City of Wrenford has approved the site plan for a new community garden at Centennial Gardens. The project brings fresh, shared growing plots to the downtown core so you can grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers.
Located at Centennial Gardens on Victoria Street, the space will feature raised garden beds, a tool shed, and a composting area. The Planning and Development department reviewed the site plan, and City Council approved it at its meeting on August 5, 2025. The project helps the City expand green spaces and support local food growing.
"The community garden at Centennial Gardens is a wonderful addition to our downtown," said Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. "It gives neighbours a chance to work together, enjoy the outdoors, and grow their own food in a beautiful setting."
You can sign up for a plot through the Parks & Trails team. Registration opens in early spring 2026. The City will host a volunteer work day in late October 2025 to help prepare the soil and build the first set of raised beds. You and your neighbours are welcome to help.
The approved site plan includes wide pathways and level planting beds so you can access every area comfortably. The City will also install a rain barrel system to collect water for your garden beds during the growing season.
