Capital grants open for local community groups

The City of Wrenford is now accepting applications for the 2025 Wrenford Community Grants Program. Local non-profit groups and neighbourhood associations can apply for funding to support social, cultural, and recreational activities that make our city a better place to live.

This year, the City has set aside $250,000.00 for community projects. Eligible groups can apply for one of three funding categories:

  • Community Projects: Up to $20,000.00 for programs that build community connections and support local services.
  • Special Events: Up to $10,000.00 for festivals, cultural celebrations, and neighbourhood gatherings.
  • Organizational Capacity: Up to $5,000.00 for training, equipment, or administrative costs that help groups grow.

"Investing in our community groups strengthens the social fabric of Wrenford and ensures that everyone has a chance to participate in the activities they care about," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "We encourage new organizations to apply and help us build a more connected city."

Applicants must be registered non-profit organizations or neighbourhood associations based in Wrenford. A single application per organization is required. Groups that receive other City subsidies for the same project cannot apply. All applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on May 31, 2025.

You can download the application forms and guidelines at Wrenford Community Grants Programme or pick them up at the Service Wrenford counter, City Hall, 100 Mercer Street. For questions, contact the Community Grants team at 519-555-0100.
