Benchlands Lookout Park trail repairs complete ahead of summer

The City of Wrenford has finished repairing the walking and cycling trails at Benchlands Lookout Park ahead of the busy summer season. Crews completed the work last week, making sure the trailhead is safe and ready for visitors.

The project focused on the 2.5-kilometre stretch of the Tamsin River Trail System that runs through the park. Workers resurfaced worn sections of the path, fixed drainage that had caused puddles, and installed new informational signs and benches. The repairs also improved access to the overlook that looks out over Wrenford Falls.

"We wanted to get these trails ready before the summer crowds arrive, so residents and visitors can enjoy the lookout and the river trail safely," says Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner.

The park is more than just a place to walk. It is a major stop on the 64-kilometre trail network and a popular spot for community events like the Benchlands Folk Festival. Good trails and well-kept parks bring people downtown. When visitors come to watch the river or attend a festival, they often stop at local cafés and shops. That activity helps our small businesses stay strong.

If you notice a problem on the trail, please report it through the City Services portal. You can also find more information about park rules and seasonal events on our Parks & Trails page.
