Benchlands Folk Festival returns with international acts and local food

Wrenford is getting ready for a big weekend of music and flavour. You can mark your calendar for the return of the Benchlands Folk Festival. Organizers say the 2025 event will take place at Benchlands Lookout Park on the second weekend of August. The festival will feature a lineup of international performers alongside a new local food market.

Free general admission will welcome you to the grassy fields near the Tamsin River. Families can expect live music stages, children's craft areas, and a dedicated space for local chefs and farmers to showcase Wrenford's food scene. You will be able to enjoy music from acts touring from across Canada and Europe. The local food market will feature vendors from the surrounding farm country, offering fresh produce, baked goods, and ready-to-eat meals.

"Wrenford's festivals bring our community together and celebrate the unique character of our city," said Fiona Gallagher, GM Community Services. "This year, we are excited to welcome artists from around the world while highlighting the incredible talent and produce of our local food producers."

You can find parking at the nearby Ambrel Lake Park and along Benchlands Drive. Free shuttle buses will run from the Downtown Transit Terminal and the Eastfield Twin Arenas every twenty minutes throughout the weekend. We encourage you to use Wrenford Transit to help reduce traffic in the neighbourhood.

The festival will feature a zero-waste programme. Compostable plates and cups will be provided, and a full recycling and composting program will be in place. Volunteers will be on-site to help you sort your waste.
