Join the City of Wrenford for a community cleanup day at Ambrel Lake Park on Saturday, September 13. The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and welcomes residents of all ages to help care for the park and the surrounding trails.
Volunteers will gather at the main entrance near the playground to collect litter, clear debris from the boardwalk, and plant native wildflowers along the path. The Parks & Trails team will provide gloves, grabbers, trash bags, and water stations. Light refreshments will also be available for everyone who helps.
"We are so grateful to the residents who show up to keep our parks beautiful," said Caroline Dubé, Recreation Programs Coordinator. "It is a great way to meet your neighbours and enjoy the outdoors before the weather turns."
Because space is limited, registration is required. You can sign up through Wrenford Recreation Online. If you have questions or need help registering, contact the Recreation team at [email protected].
Please bring sturdy shoes and a reusable water bottle. The City will supply all cleanup tools and safety gear. Families are welcome, and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. There is plenty of free parking available in the lot off Ambrel Lake Road. If heavy rain is forecast, the event will move to September 14.
Whether you are a long-time resident or new to the Ambrel Lake neighbourhood, this is a chance to give back to a space that thousands of visitors enjoy every year. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to learn about the boardwalk restoration project currently underway.
