The City of Wrenford is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Mayor’s Recognition Awards, which honour residents, groups, and teams who have made a special contribution to our community. Nominations close on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.
Anyone who lives in Wrenford can submit a nomination. The awards cover five categories: Community Builder, Environmental Steward, Youth Achievement, Long-term Volunteer, and the Mayor’s Special Award. The first four are chosen by the Mayor’s Recognition Awards Committee, while the Special Award is selected directly by the Mayor. The committee reviews every submission to ensure we recognize a wide range of contributions, from helping at local food banks to coaching youth sports. Your stories help us understand how our neighbours support one another.
Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price says, "These awards exist to shine a light on the people and groups who quietly make our city better every day. We encourage everyone to take a moment to recognize the neighbours who go above and beyond."
To submit a nomination, visit the Neighbourhoods page or fill out the online form at Community. You can also pick up a paper form at any recreation centre or Wrenford City Hall. Please make sure your submission is complete and received by the deadline.
The awards ceremony will take place in the spring. Winners will be announced in the News section and invited to attend the celebration. For full program guidelines and standing information, visit the Neighbourhoods page. For questions about the program or your nomination, email [email protected].
