Wrenford property tax notices mailed to residents starting March 1

Property tax notices for 2024 are being mailed to Wrenford property owners starting today, March 1. If you have not received your notice by the end of the month, you can view your account online or visit the Revenue Services counter at Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street, Wrenford, ON N4Q 1A1.

Wrenford follows Ontario's standard two-bill system. Your first interim bill is due on the last business day of February or April, depending on your mailing batch. The final bill, which adjusts for the actual taxes collected, is due on the last business day of June or September. Paying on time helps us keep the roads plowed in winter, fund the schools, and pay for the services you rely on every day.

You can pay your tax bill in several ways. Online and telephone banking through your financial institution is the fastest method. You can also pay in person at the Revenue Services counter at City Hall, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or use the secure 24-hour drop box at the main entrance. Pre-authorized monthly payment plans are available if you prefer to spread the cost over the year.

"Getting tax notices out early gives everyone enough time to review their account and set up a payment plan if needed," says Leah Thibodeau, the City Treasurer. "We want to make sure no one misses a deadline and gets charged a late penalty."

If you are a homeowner, you may be eligible for the Ontario Homeowner Grant, which can lower your tax bill. Make sure to apply directly to the province. You can also check out the Budget section to see how your tax dollars are spent across the city.
