Wrenford Paramedic Services HQ HVAC repair underway

On June 26, 2024, crews from the City of Wrenford have begun a major heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) repair at the Wrenford Paramedic Services Headquarters at 500 Eastfield Road. The project, led by Roads & Winter Maintenance and Facilities staff, is expected to last three weeks.

The work replaces aging ductwork and compressor units that struggled to keep pace with summer heat and winter cold. Paramedic operations will continue as usual, but the administration office on the ground floor will have limited access between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. while technicians test the new systems. Heavy equipment and delivery trucks will be parked along the service lane and adjacent sections of Eastfield Road for the duration of the project.

Residents and visitors should expect occasional lane closures and temporary parking restrictions near the headquarters. Please follow all posted detour signs and avoid the service entrance between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. If you notice any damage to the curb or street surface caused by the heavy machinery, please report it through the City's online portal or call Roads & Winter Maintenance at 519-555-0100.

"Keeping our first responders comfortable and their equipment running smoothly is a top priority," said Robert Eng, City Manager. "We are making these upgrades now so the paramedics can focus on caring for the community without worrying about the building's climate control."

This project is part of the City's ongoing infrastructure maintenance schedule. For more information on how we manage public works projects and keep our streets safe, visit our Roads & Winter Maintenance page.
