Wrenford launches spring clean-up registration portal

Spring is just around the corner, and the City of Wrenford is making it easier for residents to tidy up their properties. On March 8, 2024, the City launched the Spring Clean-Up Registration Portal, a new online tool that lets you schedule bulk item pickups and manage your yard waste collections in one place.

Instead of calling or waiting for a collection day, you can log in to the portal using your home address. The system will show you available dates for free bulk item pickup, which allows you to schedule up to three items at a time. You can also set reminders for your regular Blue Box and Green Bin collections.

The portal covers the main yard waste season, which runs from April through the end of November. Residents must place their yard waste in city-approved paper bags or use their Green Bin. The City also reminds property owners that the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility and the Northgate Drop-off Depot remain open year-round for items that need to be dropped off directly.

‘We want to remove the guesswork from spring cleaning,’ says Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. ‘With the new portal, residents can plan their clean-ups ahead of time, see exactly what is accepted, and get reminders so their carts are ready for collection.’

Beyond scheduling, the portal includes a quick-reference guide for sorting materials. It clearly lists what goes in the black cart, the blue bin, and the green bin, as well as information on household hazardous waste and electronic recycling. The City encourages residents to visit the guide before heading to the curb or the depot to avoid contamination.

Spring registration for the portal opens today. For a full list of collection dates, depot hours, and how to prepare your carts, visit the Garbage & Recycling page.
