Starting December 15, the City of Wrenford will enforce an overnight on-street parking ban in the Ambrel Lake Park area. This rule runs from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. every night until March 31, 2025. The ban covers all streets within the park boundary and the surrounding residential roads.
The goal is to keep snow routes open so plows and salt trucks can clear your street as soon as it snows. Crews begin clearing main roads after five centimetres of accumulation and residential streets after eight centimetres. If vehicles block the curb lane, plows cannot pass, and your neighbourhood stays covered longer. The ban also helps emergency responders reach homes quickly during storms.
If you park along Ambrel Lake Road or nearby side streets, you will need to move your vehicle before the ban starts each night. You can check the [[Snow route parking bans | full map of restricted streets]] to see exactly where the ban applies in your area. If you cannot move your car because of a medical condition or a broken vehicle, you may apply for a [[Apply for a snow route parking ban exemption | winter service vehicle stop request]]. Please note that exemptions are granted on a first-come, first-served basis and may not be available if the snowfall is heavy.
“Clear streets make sure our plows can get through quickly and safely during heavy snowfall,” says Roads Superintendent James Whitford. “We ask that you check the weather forecast and move your car early in the evening once the ban is active.”
The City thanks residents for cooperating and helping keep Wrenford’s roads safe and drivable this winter.
