The City of Wrenford is opening the Wildrye Splash Pad at Wildrye Park (90 Wildrye Drive) to the public today, Saturday, June 15, 2024. Families in the Wildrye neighbourhood can now enjoy a brand-new outdoor water play space designed for kids of all ages.
The splash pad features interactive water jets, ground sprayers, and cooling misting arches that activate on a timer. The area is free to use and open seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. through Labour Day. The play surface is made of smooth, non-slip concrete and drains quickly after use, so you can jump back in the moment the water stops.
"We are excited to bring this new water play space to the Wildrye neighbourhood," said Fiona Gallagher, general manager of community services. "Splash pads are a popular way for families to stay cool and active during the summer, and we want to make sure every resident has easy access to safe, free recreation right in their own community."
While you are enjoying the water, please remember to supervise children at all times. The City asks that visitors bring sunscreen, drink plenty of water, and wear clean, closed-toe water shoes. Glass containers, food, and pets are not allowed on the splash pad surface to keep the area safe and clean for everyone.
