Wildrye Splash Pad opening delayed until July 1

The City of Wrenford is moving the opening of the Wildrye Splash Pad to July 1. The splash pad, located at Wildrye Park on 90 Wildrye Drive, was originally scheduled to open earlier this month. Crews in Roads & Winter Maintenance are still working on the surrounding pavement and drainage to keep the area safe for families.

"We want to make sure the splash pad area is fully ready for you and your family," said Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner. "The extra time will let us finish the final touches on the concrete and make sure the drainage system is working perfectly before the water turns on."

The splash pad is one of the newest features in the Wildrye neighbourhood, which is still building out. Roads & Winter Maintenance crews have been patching the nearby streets and smoothing the sidewalks around the park. If you live nearby, you might hear some equipment for a few more days. We appreciate your patience while we wrap up the work.

When the splash pad opens on July 1, it will be a great spot for kids to cool off during the hot summer days. The park also has a playground and picnic tables nearby. You can find more information about all our seasonal outdoor pools and splash pads on the Parks & Trails page.
