The Westbrook Community Arena reopens on February 5, 2024, following the completion of essential roof repairs. Residents can now return to public skating sessions, community hall bookings, and local league games at the facility located at 40 Westbrook Drive.
The arena was temporarily closed in late January to allow crews to replace damaged sections of the roof and address water drainage issues that had built up over the winter. The repairs ensure the building remains safe and dry for skaters, visitors, and event organizers through the rest of the season.
"We are glad to have the roof in good shape and the ice ready for the community," says Robert Eng, City Manager. "Public safety and comfortable conditions are our top priorities, and these upgrades will keep the arena open and running smoothly for years to come."
The two ice pads are now fully operational for public skate sessions, youth hockey practices, and adult leagues. The community hall is also available for booking again. If you are planning a birthday party or a local meeting, you can reserve the space through the Recreation facility booking portal.
The City thanks residents for their patience during the closure. For the latest updates on arena hours, public skate times, and facility status, please check the Recreation & Culture section or call 519-555-0122.
