Water restored to Main Street after main break repair

Water crews have finished repairing a main break on Main Street, and service has been restored to all affected customers as of the morning of August 3, 2024.

The break occurred late Friday evening and disrupted service for several blocks in the downtown area. Crews worked through the night to shut off valves, excavate the damaged section, and install a new pipe segment. Water quality has been tested and meets all provincial standards. Residents who experienced a temporary loss of service should see their water running clear again.

If your water looks cloudy or has a slight tint, run the cold water tap for a few minutes until it runs clear. This flushing removes any air or sediment from your home's plumbing. "We appreciate your patience while our crews worked quickly to fix this break and keep your water safe," said Patrick Nguyen, Water Operations Manager.
