Tamsin River Run raises funds for local youth sports programs

The Tamsin River Run took place on the Tamsin River Trail this past May, bringing together more than 1,200 runners, walkers and families to support youth sports across Wrenford. Organised by the City in partnership with local leagues, the event raised a total of $34,750.00.

All funds collected will go directly to the Wrenford Youth Sports League. This money will cover registration fees, new equipment and field maintenance for kids in the Eastfield, Railside, Ambrel Lake and Wildrye neighbourhoods. The City has also set aside a matching amount from its Community Grants pool to double the impact for the upcoming season.

"Events like the Tamsin River Run show exactly why we built our trail system. When our community comes together for a good cause, everyone wins," said Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. "These funds will make sure no child has to sit out a season because of a fee. We are proud of how many of you showed up to support our youth."

If you would like to help local athletes this season, you can still make a donation through the Wrenford Youth Sports League page. Donations can be made online or in person at Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
