Summer schedule adjustments for Canada Day and long weekend holidays

Wrenford residents will notice changes to transit, city offices, and parks services this Canada Day weekend. City Hall and most civic offices will be closed on Monday, July 1, while transit and waste collection will follow adjusted holiday schedules.

Wrenford Transit will operate on a Sunday timetable for all fixed routes from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1. There will be no special event shuttles or Wrenford Access service on the holiday itself. The Downtown Transit Terminal will remain open, but with reduced hours from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Riders can check the Wrenford Transit app for live bus locations.

Garbage, Blue Box, and Green Bin collection will follow the regular biweekly and weekly schedules. The East Wrenford Waste Management Facility will open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and the Northgate Drop-off Depot will be closed for the day. Residents should remember to put out their carts by 6:00 a.m. For more details, visit the Garbage & Recycling page.

Parks and trails will be open for the Canada Day in the Park celebration at Centennial Gardens. However, most recreation facilities, including the Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre and the Northgate Aquatic Centre, will be closed. The Kingfisher Outdoor Pool and Wildrye Splash Pad will also remain closed until their regular late-June opening dates.

"We encourage everyone to plan their travel ahead of time and check the Wrenford Transit app for real-time updates," said Daniel Osei, Transit Manager.
