Remembrance Day Service program released for November ceremony

The City of Wrenford is proud to share the program for the annual Remembrance Day ceremony at Centennial Gardens on Tuesday, November 11. The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the cenotaph. Residents, veterans, and community groups are invited to attend.

Guests should plan to arrive by 10:30 a.m. to find a seat. The ceremony will open with the National Anthem, followed by the Last Post and two minutes of silence. After the silence, officials will lay wreaths on behalf of the City, local businesses, and community organisations. The program will close with The Rouse and the Royal Anthem. Anyone wishing to lay a personal wreath may do so right after the official service ends.

"Remembrance Day is a time for our community to pause and honour the service and sacrifice of those who served in the Canadian Armed Forces," said Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. "We hope to see as many Wrenford residents as possible come together to mark the occasion with respect and gratitude."

As a civic holiday, City offices will be closed on November 11. Garbage and recycling collection will follow the normal schedule. Wrenford Transit will run on a Sunday schedule. Many downtown merchants will also be closed for the day. If you need to visit a downtown store or service provider before the ceremony, please plan your trip early in the morning. You can find more information about downtown business hours and Downtown BIA updates on the Economic Development page.
