The City of Wrenford has confirmed the details for the annual Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph in Centennial Gardens on Monday, November 11. You are invited to attend the 11:00 a.m. ceremony, which will honour the service and sacrifice of members of the Canadian Armed Forces, veterans, and the fallen. The program will include the laying of wreaths, a moment of silence, and a pipe band performance.
To keep the area safe, the Wrenford Police Service traffic officers will close Victoria Street between Mercer and Tamsin Streets from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on November 11. You should follow all detour signs and expect delays in the downtown core. Please slow down and drive carefully in the area.
If you are planning to attend, you should use public transit or park at the Downtown Transit Terminal and walk to the cenotaph. On-street parking is not available during the closure window. The Wrenford Police Service will manage traffic and pedestrian flow throughout the day.
"We encourage everyone in our community to come out and pay their respects," said Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. "It is a moment for us to pause, remember those who served, and support our local veterans and their families."
