The Northgate Drop-off Depot is opening for its seasonal household waste collection period starting Saturday, May 4, 2024. Located at 1010 Northgate Boulevard, the facility will accept household hazardous waste, leaf and yard waste, and construction debris from residents in the Northgate, Kingfisher, Railside, and Copper Ridge neighbourhoods. Find service details for your area on the Neighbourhoods page.
Residents can drop off accepted materials during regular operating hours, which are Wednesday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The depot is free for city residents. Please bring a valid city property tax bill or utility bill to prove your address. Acceptable items include paint, solvents, oils, batteries, electronics, clean wood, drywall, and insulation. Prohibited items include propane tanks, tyres, appliances, and medical waste.
For neighbourhoods outside the immediate service area, the City’s main waste site is the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility on Concession 4 Road. You can also drop off paper yard-waste bags from April to the end of November. If you have questions about what you can bring or need help planning your drop-off, contact the Waste Programs team.
“We know that spring cleaning and yard work create a lot of extra waste, and keeping these drop-off options open makes it easier for residents to handle it safely and responsibly,” says Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. “Please follow the posted rules so our crews and volunteers stay safe while we sort and recycle what we can.”
