Northgate Branch Library parking lot resurfacing begins

The City of Wrenford is starting resurfacing work at the parking lot outside the Northgate Branch Library, located at 900 Northgate Boulevard. The project will begin on September 11, 2024, and is expected to finish by September 27, 2024, depending on the weather. During this time, most parking spaces in the lot will be closed to the public.

Our Roads & Winter Maintenance crews will remove the old asphalt, fix the drainage underneath, and lay fresh pavement. We are also adding new painted lines and upgrading a few light fixtures to make the area safer and brighter for visitors. You can expect heavy equipment and some temporary lane closures along the front of the library. The library itself will stay open during the work, but access may be slightly slower than usual.

"Maintaining our parking lots is an important part of keeping our community spaces accessible and safe," said James Whitford, Roads Superintendent. "We know this temporary change will affect your visit, and we appreciate your patience while we get the job done right."

If you need to visit the library or pick up items from the drop box, please plan ahead. We recommend using Wrenford Transit Route 7 or parking at the Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre, which has plenty of open spaces nearby. You can also use the drive-through service window at the library entrance for holds pickup. Follow the detour signs posted on Northgate Boulevard to keep traffic moving smoothly.

We will post updates about any schedule changes or unexpected delays on our Service Alerts page. For more information about road work, winter maintenance, and how we care for city streets, visit Roads & Winter Maintenance.
