The City of Wrenford is getting ready for another active summer. The Northgate Aquatic Centre at 910 Northgate Boulevard, Wrenford, ON N4Q 4B5 (519-555-0121) will open its 50-metre pool, dive tank and waterslide to the public on June 15, 2024.
Swimmers can expect the standard seasonal hours: Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Registration for scheduled swim times opens a few days before the official opening. Drop-in sessions will also be available, though we recommend booking your preferred slot online ahead of time to guarantee a spot. All participants must follow the standard supervision policy and aquatic programme rules.
"The Northgate Aquatic Centre is a favourite destination for families and lap swimmers alike," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "Our aquatic staff are finishing their final safety checks and water quality tests this week. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the water in just a couple of weeks."
While the aquatic centre is preparing for June, you will notice changes across the city as we move past the cold months. Roads & Winter Maintenance crews have wrapped up their overnight snow clearing operations on residential streets. The overnight parking ban lifted on March 31, and you can now park freely on residential streets without worrying about overnight clearing. Crews are now focused on spring road repairs, catch basin flushing and trimming trees along the boulevard. If you notice potholes or drainage issues near the aquatic centre, please report them through the city's online service request tool.
Keep an eye on the Service Alerts page for any schedule changes or facility updates as we head into the warmer months. For full details on aquatic programme registration, fees and drop-in hours, visit the Aquatics section online.
