The City of Wrenford is updating its waste collection schedules for 2024 to improve service reliability and keep our neighbourhoods clean. Starting January 2, garbage, Blue Box recycling, and Green Bin organics will follow their regular weekly and biweekly routines. Residents who kept their Christmas trees on the property over the holidays can place them at the curb for curbside pickup during the first two weeks of January.
To reduce missed pickups and improve route efficiency, the City is adjusting collection times in several neighbourhoods. Detailed schedules are available on the Garbage & Recycling page. Please check your specific neighbourhood's schedule early in the new year so you know exactly when to put your carts out.
Here is what you need to do to keep your service running smoothly:
- Place your carts at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day.
- Make sure lids are fully closed and carts are not overflowing.
- Keep carts at least one metre apart and away from parked cars, mailboxes, and snowbanks.
- Do not tie bags or put loose items in your Blue Box. Everything must fit inside the cart.
"Clean streets start with proper cart placement and following the collection calendar," says Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. "We appreciate residents taking the time to get it right so our crews can work safely and efficiently."
If you move to a new address this year, remember to update your voter registration before the next deadline so your mail and waste services reach you without delay. For full details on collection days, holiday adjustments, and drop-off depot hours, visit Garbage & Recycling.
