Lights at the Falls celebration draws record crowds to downtown

The City of Wrenford's annual holiday celebration, Lights at the Falls, drew a record-breaking 15,000 visitors to the downtown core and Fallsview neighbourhood over the weekend of November 30. Residents and local business owners joined the mayor and council to enjoy the illuminated displays and seasonal markets.

This year's event featured expanded pedestrian zones along Fallsview Road and new light installations that follow the Tamsin River corridor. The Fallsview Arts Centre hosted afternoon performances, while Market Square was filled with local food vendors and craft stalls. City crews and the Wrenford Police Service worked together to manage traffic and keep the area clean, reflecting Council's recent decisions to improve safety and accessibility during large public events.

Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price joined residents on Saturday evening to view the new displays and speak with vendors. "We are thrilled to see so many families returning to our downtown core for this beloved seasonal tradition," said Mayor Okafor-Price. "Lights at the Falls is more than just a celebration; it is a testament to the strength of our local businesses and the spirit of our community."
