Library board approves new digital resource subscriptions for 2024

On Monday, June 10, 2024, the Wrenford Public Library Board met to review and approve its annual technology budget. The board voted unanimously to expand digital resource subscriptions for the 2024–2025 year. This decision brings a wider selection of e-books, audiobooks, streaming media, and academic databases to all library cardholders across the city.

The new packages include upgraded streaming services for film and television, expanded educational platforms for children and teens, and additional language learning tools. The board also authorized a pilot program allowing remote access to specialized research databases for small business owners and post-secondary students. These additions support the library's goal of providing free, equitable access to information regardless of location.

"You do not need to visit a branch to take advantage of everything our collection has to offer," said Tara Sandhu, Library CEO for the Wrenford Public Library Board. "These new digital resources put a world of knowledge right at your fingertips, day or night."

To get started, visit the library's website to request a digital library card if you do not already have one. You can also visit the Main Branch at 150 Mercer Street to speak with a librarian about how to set up your account. The library is open Monday to Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
