Kingfisher Outdoor Pool prepares for June opening

The City of Wrenford is getting ready for summer fun as the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool opens its doors in mid-June. Located at 15 Kingfisher Court, the facility will welcome families for leisure swims, swim lessons, and splash pad play. The seasonal pool and splash pad are set to open on Saturday, June 15, weather permitting.

Recreation staff have been working behind the scenes to prepare the site. This includes testing water quality systems, checking lifeguard stations, and restocking safety equipment. As we wrap up the winter season, Roads & Winter Maintenance crews have also been clearing snow and ice from the parking lot and sidewalks to ensure a safe and dry entrance for visitors.

“Outdoor pools are a community favourite this time of year,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “We want everyone to have a safe, clean, and fun place to cool off during the warmer months.”

Visitors can expect a range of programs throughout the season. Drop-in leisure swims will be available daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The splash pad features a variety of spray toys and a large dump bucket for kids. Swimming lessons for all ages and ability levels will run from late June through August, with registration opening on the first Monday of March. Families can also book the pool for private events or enjoy the shaded picnic tables near the main entrance.

The pool operates from late June to Labour Day. Standard admission fees apply, and discounted passes are available for residents, students, and seniors. A free water conservation toolkit is available at the Main Library for anyone looking to save water at home while enjoying the summer.

For the full schedule of drop-in times, lesson dates, and any weather-related closures, please check the Facilities page online or call 519-555-0125. We look forward to seeing you at Kingfisher Outdoor Pool this summer.
