The Kingfisher Outdoor Pool and splash pad will close for the season on Monday, September 22, 2024. This seasonal closure marks the end of summer swimming at 15 Kingfisher Court in the Kingfisher neighbourhood. Staff will use the fall and winter months to complete necessary maintenance, including draining, cleaning, and winterizing the pool basin and filtration equipment.

While Kingfisher prepares for the colder months, residents can still enjoy indoor swimming at other City facilities. The Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre on Benchlands Drive and the Northgate Aquatic Centre on Northgate Boulevard are both open with full lap pools, leisure pools, and fitness programmes. You can view current hours and book a facility using our Find a City facility tool.
If you are looking for ways to stay active outdoors as the weather cools down, the City offers a range of winter recreation programmes and indoor classes. Check the Programs page for registration dates and drop-in schedules.
"Closing the outdoor pool is a standard part of our seasonal operations, but it allows our team to keep the facility safe and ready for next summer," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "We encourage residents to explore our indoor aquatics centres and winter fitness options while the outdoor pool is offline."
For questions about pool access, membership discounts, or programme registration, you can reach the Recreation team directly. Visit the Contact page for phone numbers and email addresses, or drop by the Service Wrenford counter at City Hall during business hours.
