Harvest on Mercer festival showcases local agricultural producers

The City of Wrenford is excited to announce the return of Harvest on Mercer this September. This annual celebration will take place on Mercer Street downtown, bringing together local agricultural producers, artisans, and food vendors for a day of community connection and local commerce.

Harvest on Mercer is a highlight of the City’s seasonal calendar and a key opportunity for small businesses to connect directly with residents. The event will feature product tastings, live demonstrations, and exclusive deals from more than 50 local growers and makers. You can find everything from fresh autumn vegetables and homemade preserves to handcrafted goods and seasonal treats.

“This festival is a wonderful reminder of why we do what we do in Economic Development,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “Supporting our local producers keeps money in our community, creates jobs, and makes Wrenford a more resilient place to live and work.”

What to expect

The festival will transform Mercer Street into a pedestrian-friendly marketplace. Visitors can enjoy live music, children’s activities, and educational booths about sustainable farming and local food systems. Food trucks and pop-up vendors will be on site, offering lunch and snack options.

Getting there and parking

Mercer Street will be closed to through traffic from Church Street to Water Street during the event. Please plan ahead and use public transit, walk, or bike if possible. The Downtown Transit Terminal at 1 Market Square is the closest transit hub, and Wrenford Access can arrange specialized transit for those who need it. Several on-street and lot parking areas will remain open, but please follow all posted signs and temporary detour instructions.

Supporting local business

The City encourages residents to bring reusable bags and cash or card payments. Many local producers will be accepting electronic payments, but having cash on hand helps support vendors who rely on it. You can also check out the Economic Development page for more information on how to shop local and find business directory listings.

Harvest on Mercer is free to attend and welcomes all ages. For the full schedule of activities and vendor lists, please visit the News & Events page. We look forward to seeing you on Mercer Street for a day of celebration, local flavour, and community spirit.
