The City of Wrenford is extending the drop-off hours at the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility for residents clearing out their parks and yards this fall. Starting September 1, you can drop off park waste, leaf bags, and green bin overflow on Saturdays and Sundays until November 30.
This change makes it easier for community groups, neighbourhood associations, and you to clean up local green spaces without having to travel outside of regular working hours. The depot will accept all standard drop-off materials, including paper yard-waste bags, brush, and green bin overflow.
"We know that neighbourhood clean-ups and park restoration projects often happen on weekends," said Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. "By opening the depot to the public on Saturdays and Sundays through the end of November, we are removing a major barrier and making it simpler for you to keep our parks and trails in great shape."
Please remember to separate your materials and keep the site tidy. If you have large amounts of waste or need a special permit for a major park project, contact the Civic Operations Centre in advance. The City continues to encourage you to separate yard waste and green bin organics, as diverting these materials from the landfill is a key part of our waste reduction strategy.
