East Wrenford Waste Management Facility extends hazardous waste drop-off hours

Starting October 1, the City of Wrenford is extending hazardous waste drop-off hours and the collection season at the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility to better serve residents across all six wards.

The facility, located at 3500 Concession 4 Road, will now accept household hazardous waste on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is one hour longer than the standard seasonal schedule. The extended drop-off period will run through the end of November, giving you more time to safely dispose of paints, solvents, batteries, and other household chemicals before the winter season begins.

"We know residents want to get rid of old chemicals and batteries before the snow flies," said Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. "By extending our Saturday hours and the drop-off season, we are making it easier for everyone to keep their homes and the environment safe."

You can bring household hazardous waste to the drop-off depot at the facility. Accepted items include oil-based paints, solvents, motor oil, batteries, and propane tanks. The City asks that your items be kept in their original containers, if possible, and that all containers be tightly sealed for transport. Please do not mix different types of chemicals.

This temporary schedule change supports the City's goal of keeping 60 per cent of residential waste out of the landfill. By making hazardous waste drop-offs more accessible, the City encourages you to choose proper disposal methods over regular garbage bins or illegal dumping.
