The Downtown Wrenford Business Improvement Area (BIA) has officially approved its 2025 operating budget, setting the stage for another year of programming, maintenance, and safety initiatives in the city's commercial core.
The approved budget allocates funds toward seasonal street decorations, enhanced cleaning services, and a spring downtown festival. It also supports the BIA's annual marketing campaigns and the continued operation of the downtown ambassador program, which provides visitor information and assistance to shoppers and diners. You can expect to see these improvements along Mercer Street and Tamsin Street throughout the year.
The Downtown Wrenford BIA operates under the authority of the Downtown BIA. The BIA is funded through a levy on commercial properties located within the designated downtown boundaries. The approved 2025 levy rate aligns with the current fiscal framework and will appear on commercial property tax bills in the coming weeks.
"The 2025 budget reflects a strong commitment to keeping our downtown a welcoming and vibrant place for everyone," said City Manager Robert Eng. "By supporting the BIA's initiatives, we are investing directly in the businesses and public spaces that make our city centre a great place to live, work, and visit."
