The City of Wrenford is hiring local youth for paid positions across recreation centres this summer. Starting in June, the new Summer Youth Employment Programme will offer jobs to residents aged 15 to 24 at facilities like the Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre, Northgate Aquatic Centre, and Westbrook Community Arena. The program gives young people a chance to earn money while learning valuable workplace skills.
Participants will work in teams that help keep our community spaces clean, welcoming, and ready for the season. Duties include assisting with program setup, welcoming visitors, preparing activity materials, and supporting staff during busy weekend events. You will work alongside experienced recreation and facilities staff, who will guide you through every task.
This program is designed for students and young people who want to gain work experience before the school year starts. No prior job experience is required. We provide on-the-job training and mentorship to help you build confidence and learn how to work in a team.
Applications are open now through the Careers section on the city website. You can view full job descriptions, shift options, and how to apply online. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible, as spaces fill quickly. If you have questions about eligibility or need help with your application, please contact the Community Services team at [email protected].
“The Summer Youth Employment Programme is a great way for young people to connect with their community and build real skills,” says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “We are committed to creating paid opportunities that help our youth succeed, both at work and in life.”
The program runs for eight weeks during the summer. Participants will earn $21.50 an hour and receive a free annual recreation membership to use any city facility. The City also provides all necessary training materials, uniforms, and safety equipment.
Start your summer off right by joining a team that keeps Wrenford’s recreation centres running smoothly. Visit the Careers section to browse open positions and submit your application today.
