The City of Wrenford is hosting the final weekend of the Summer Sounds at the Gardens concert series at Centennial Gardens. You can catch the free outdoor concerts on Saturday and Sunday, August 24 and 25, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
You are welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the music on the garden lawns. The series has featured local talent throughout the summer, and the final weekend will highlight three area bands. The Mill Street Strings will open the Saturday show with upbeat folk tunes. They will be followed by Ambrel Lake Acoustics, who play a mix of jazz and singer-songwriter hits. Sunday’s lineup begins with the Tamsin River Blues Band at 6:00 p.m., with the Fallsview Jazz Trio closing out the season at 8:00 p.m.
Several local food trucks will be on site both days, so you can grab a bite to eat before the music starts. The gardens will also be lit up after dark, making it a perfect evening to enjoy the grounds.
“We are so proud of how the Summer Sounds at the Gardens series has brought neighbours together this season,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “It has been wonderful to see families and friends gathering on the lawn, sharing meals, and listening to local musicians under the stars.”
Tickets are not required, but you are encouraged to arrive early to claim a good spot on the grass. The event will run rain or shine. If severe weather is forecast, updates will be posted on the Service Alerts page.
