WRENFORd, ON — July 15, 2024 — The Benchlands Folk Festival is preparing for its biggest weekend yet when it returns to Benchlands Lookout Park on the second weekend of August. Early ticket sales and vendor registrations show that residents and visitors are expected to pack the festival grounds, setting a new attendance record for the City of Wrenford’s signature summer cultural event.
The three-day celebration will feature live music, local craft markets, food trucks, and family-friendly activities along the Tamsin River trail system. Local performers and independent artists will take the main stage, while dozens of small business owners will set up booths to sell handmade goods and seasonal treats. The festival continues to serve as a key economic driver for Wrenford, drawing visitors who spend at nearby cafes, retail shops, and hotels across the downtown and Benchlands areas.
“Events like the Benchlands Folk Festival do more than bring people together; they put money directly into the pockets of local entrepreneurs and support the cultural fabric of our city,” said Isabel Moreno, Economic Development Manager. “We are seeing a strong return from vendors and sponsors, which shows how much the community values homegrown talent and small business.”
Residents and visitors should plan their trip early. The Downtown Transit Terminal will run extra shuttle service, and on-street parking will fill quickly. We encourage you to bring reusable water bottles, check the weather, and support the local vendors by using cash or mobile payment. Families can also take advantage of the free kids’ craft zone and the shaded picnic areas near the Centennial Gardens entrance.
