Benchlands Curling Club announces bonspiel schedule
The Benchlands Curling Club has released its 2024 bonspiel schedule, welcoming local and visiting teams to the City-owned facility. The events run from late January through March at 430 Benchlands Drive, just off the Tamsin River Trail.
Each bonspiel brings together curlers of all skill levels for friendly competition and community connection. The club opens its rinks for three main events this winter:
- Winter Classic Bonspiel: January 26 to 28. Open to all men’s, women’s, mixed, and senior teams. Registration closes January 15.
- Community Charity Classic: February 16 to 18. This event raises funds for local food banks. Teams pay a $50.00 donation to play.
- Spring Thaw Open: March 8 to 10. A relaxed tournament for beginners and advanced players alike. Drop-in registration is available on event days.
“We are proud to support the Benchlands Curling Club as a key part of our community recreation network,” says Fiona Gallagher, GM of Community Services. “These bonspiels bring residents together and highlight the quality of our City-owned facilities.”
