The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that the Ambrel Lake Recreation Centre reopens to the public on Monday, June 3, 2024, following necessary roof repairs.
With the structural work finished, the gymnasium, program rooms, and older adults' lounge are open again. You can return to your regular drop-in activities, registered programs, and community events. The centre follows its normal weekly schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; weekends 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
“The reopening of the Ambrel Lake Recreation Centre is a great day for our neighbourhood,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “I want to thank our residents for their patience during the closure and to the construction crew who worked hard to make these necessary safety upgrades on time. As we open the doors again, I hope this centre continues to be a welcoming space for fitness, learning, and community connection for years to come.”
While the interior work is complete, crews will continue some exterior work around the building during daytime hours. You might notice construction vehicles on Ambrel Lake Road near the site. Please follow any posted detours and give the work zones a wide berth for everyone’s safety.
If your regular program was paused during the closure, registration will resume on June 3. You can sign up online or visit the front desk at 1300 Ambrel Lake Road. For a full list of active classes and drop-in times, check the Programs page. If you need to update your contact information or book a room rental, you can also call the centre directly at 519-555-0124.
