The splash pad at Ambrel Lake Park is open for the summer season, starting today, May 24. You can enjoy the cooling spray features from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily, weather permitting. The City has completed its annual maintenance and safety inspections, and the water system is fully operational.
The splash pad is free for you to use and is located next to the main playground and picnic shelters. We flushed and tested the water circulation system during the last two weeks of April, using funds from the Parks and Recreation operating budget. This annual refresh ensures the water stays clean and safe for you and your family. We also installed new non-slip surfacing around the edges this spring, funded through the 2024 Capital Works Program under the approved Budget.
Please note that the splash pad is not supervised by lifeguards. You are responsible for watching children at all times. We ask that you keep strollers and personal belongings off the wet deck, and that you do not bring glass containers or food onto the splash pad area. We provide trash bins, but please help us keep the area tidy by disposing of your waste properly.
"We are glad to have the splash pad back for the community," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "It is a small but important part of our summer programmes, and we appreciate you following the safety guidelines so everyone can enjoy it."
The splash pad will remain open until Labour Day, unless weather conditions or maintenance needs require an early closure. We will post any changes on the News page and through Wrenford 311.
